Choosing the best skin care products can be quite difficult! At some point each of us realizes that the routine we’ve been using since our teen years is no longer working the way we want it to. Once you reach different stages in your life your old skin care products won’t deliver on the results it used to – that can be an extra problem in itself. There are other options available for structuring a new skin care routine. Others have been using simple methods to keep their skin vibrant; we will now look at how you can use these tested methods for your skin.

Don’t overdo it. It’s a safe bet you really don’t have to buy over a dozen different lines of skin products to have healthy and nice looking skin. Start with a simple cleanser, then you want something that is good at both cleaning your skin and preventing breakouts but won’t slather a bunch of oil into your pores or leave your face feeling stripped. An OTC cleanser is almost always a good starting place. It’s important the product you buy is recommended for adults. The reason is teen products are heavy duty, and they may be too harsh for your adult facial skin.

Figure your exactly what your particular skin requires and make every effort to provide it. You never know, your skin may do best with a toner and moisturizer in addition to the standard cleanser. Others break out if they use toner and still others find that using a moisturizer makes their face feel itchy or heavy. Then you’ll find some lucky folks who can get by with only using a quality cleanser. Others need all three products as well as special products for problem areas. If you have break-outs, then you can try a quality cleanser plus some spot treatment in the evening.

Ask a friend who suffers from the same types of skin issues that you do which products have worked for them in the past. Many people are embarrassed to say if they failed with a skin care product, but you can usually tell if it has anyway. Talking to as many people as possible is also a great way to get good reviews without having to spend a lot of money. You can learn about skin products and your skin in different ways that are easy. Of course there are some who can use anything on their face and it works fine. And then there’s the rest of us who need some help. Be patient and dog it – in no time you’ll know what skin products work for you and which ones you want to avoid.

The Home Aquarium Supplies You Will Need

You have made that important decision to start your aquarium, but don’t feel overwhelmed by all of the home aquarium supplies that you will need to get. Here is a nice list of equipment and terms that you should know before hand.

The first and most obvious thing that all aquarium aficionados need are aquarium tanks. Gone are the days of the boring ten gallon rectangular tank that can either be for your fish or your hamsters. Nowadays, you can find just about any size or shape that you can think of. Any amount of space you have will work no matter what the size.

Now before you go out and just buy something that fits, there are some things you need to think about first, the most important one being what kind of fish you would like to keep. The three main types are saltwater, freshwater and brakish. All three are great, but each require a different set of aquarium equipment. The full grown size of the fish, the type of water chemistry they need, what other fish will live with them are all factors to take into consideration. As far as size goes, A freshwater aquarium can take fish about one inch for every gallon of water and a saltwater tank should take one fish the same size for about every three gallons of water.

Once you establish all of this, choose a tank which fits you space, keeping in mind that a twenty gallon tank weighs about 170 pounds. Make sure the base can hold up under all the weight.

The next few things you will need are aquarium lighting, gravel, aquarium filters, air pumps, and heaters. You will need to investigate which type of each of these items will best suite the type of fish you have chosen. We can however talk a bit more about each of these items first just to give you some general information.

There are several types of aquarium lighting available. Again, the determining factor is not so much the fish, but whether or not your tank has plants and or reefs in it. Each one of these types of tanks have their own requirements, so it will take a bit more research to determine which kind of lighting to use. If you are planning a tank with only fish in it and no live plants, then you can go with a fluorescent or incandescent lighting setup.

A good aquarium filter is a definite must. There are three kinds that can work and it does depend on what type of fish and plants you are planning to keep. The three types of aquarium filters are mechanical, chemical and biological filtering. You can use one type or a combination to make sure your aquarium is one hundred percent clean and the water composition is correct.

Gravel is a must, and the type and size used is determined by the size of the fish you will keep. The type of biological filter system can also effect the size gravel chosen. As always, check with your pet shop pros to make sure that you are not making any wrong decisions.

One of the final pieces of equipment you will need is the tank heater. As you can see, the general theme here is that everything you decide on depends on the type and size of the fish, and this is no exception. Tropical fish can die if not kept at the correct temperature so care must be taken.

So that is a basic list of most of the home aquarium supplies that you will need. You can either purchase these items separately, or in a kit that has everything you need. Do some research and most importantly, enjoy your new aquatic friends.

Dog toys – Does your dog really need them?

Everyone knows that dogs love to chew. Have you ever returned home to find your favorite shoes damaged by your dogs teeth or your favorite book ripped to shreds? Sometimes dogs get bored, and playing is essential for keeping them mentally occupied. If dogs are not given toys to play with, they will find something else to play with or, rather, destroy. Chewing is normal behavior for puppies who are teething but some adult dogs may show destructive chewing behavior, and some dogs are more destructive than others. Toys should not take the place of human attention and regular exercise, but if your dog is left alone and you don’t want him to chew your personal items, make sure he has plenty of toys to keep him satisfied. It’s been said that a dog should have at least 10 toys at all times to keep from chewing on things he shouldn’t.

Recently there has been concern about the safety of dog toys that are imported from other countries, but there are high-quality, non-toxic dog toys on the market that are made in the USA. There are different types of toys, including plush dog toys with squeakers sewn into them, tough chew toys, tug toys, toys that can be tossed like balls and frisbees and toys that can have treats hidden within them to make them more challenging to your dog.

Plush dog toys, even though they are made with reinforced and strong fabric, typically do not last as long as other types of dog toys, depending on the chewing behavior of your dog, but they can easily be cleaned by throwing them into the washer and dryer.

It’s a good idea to rotate your dog’s toys to refresh his interest in them as “new” toys are more interesting than old ones. Stash away some of your dog’s toys so that only a few are available at one time. This helps to prolong the life of each toy, while rekindling his interest. The toys can be washed in between use so that the dirt and slobber do not become “ground in.”

When washing squeak toys, sometimes the squeaker will become water logged. Most of the time this will clear up quickly if the toy is shaken and the squeaker is repositioned to promote drainage. Also letting your dog squeak it to force air through it may help with the problem. If your dog’s squeak toy becomes so battered that it can no longer be repaired and is not safe anymore, the toy can be quietly disposed of when your dog is distracted, and if you’ve been rotating his toys all along, he’ll be happy when you pull a “new” one out of the closet.

Chew toys often last longer than plush ones and there are even “guaranteed tough” dog toys that are guaranteed to last or you can get a free replacement. For anyone who wants to “go green,” you can find dog toys that are made from recycled materials, and some of the toys are even recyclable again. You may also consider toys that can be stuffed with treats as these toys often hold a dog’s interest longer at one time, especially when left alone. Interactive dog toys are fun for both dogs and humans, and it’s easy for your dog to get exercise while he catches a frisbee or fetches a ball.

Dogs really do need toys, that is, if you don’t want them chewing your personal things. Dog toys keep dogs mentally occupied so that they don’t get into mischief and help puppies with teething, so it’s important to make sure your dog has enough toys readily available to him or her at any given time.

Proper Pet Cat Care: What Your Beloved Cats Need

Cats have especial needs, which should be provided to them if you want to have them as pets.  What they need are the simple and basic pet cat care, such as cat food, basic cat items such as beddings and litter container as well as cat grooming tools. Likewise, what pet cats need is the attention and affection that you can provide and share to these lovable animals.

One of the most basic pet cat care is the nutritious and enriched cat food. Nothing fancy, only the simple but full of nutrients and vitamins that the animals need for maximum growth, body building and development.

Cats can become voracious when it comes to food, and so as pet owners it is a must that you watch their diet. 4 meals a day is enough for the young cats.  Another important pet cat care is providing your beloved animal with cat grooming. Definitely you must not neglect this aspect of caring for your cats. Regular and proper grooming should be given to them. Time comes when you notice that your cat’s fur is getting thicker and longer. You then must take time out to trim it or at least brush the hair regularly.  Bathing is also desired as you see your pet becoming unkempt.

Likewise, you must also make sure that your cat does not have fleas and ticks problems. Parasites should be taken care of by using safe anti tick and flea products. It should be noted however that not only should you take care of the parasites on your cats but also on the surroundings and furniture on your home as they are very likely to be infested too.

Pet cat care can be very meticulous but if done properly and regularly, it turns out to be not that difficult to do. The important thing is that you provide your pet with the best care and attention that you can.

so i got a 29 gallon aquarium from my mom and im going to turn it into a vivarium for one of my geckos. my budget will be around $200, i know it sounds like a lot of money but so far i’ve spent over $1000 on one that i have now (i have two), so i need some cool and creative ideas.

1. i kinda want it to be like a rain forest just because my geckos sre from the rain forest

2. i think i want it to have something like steps to give it a multi level look.

3. i will need to know where to get the supplies because i live in north idaho and the exotic pet stores are limited. muchly
