Making a Proper Environment for Your Exotic Pet

While it’s fabulous to be able to show off your exotic pet, the cost of maintaining one is really considerable. One of the more expensive things you have to note is simulating the proper environment for your exotic pet, aside from insurance, food costs and veterinary maintenance checks.

A rule of thumb of simulating the proper environment is to put it in a place where it will feel most at home, or close to home. You have to give a considerable amount of availability for your pet. Make sure that the pet cage is positioned in a place where you can frequently monitor it.

Some elements of proper environment for your exotic pet include ventilation or lighting, available resources for your pet to “play” in (depending on what constitutes safe play as far as your selected exotic pet is concerned), easy accessibility to food and the like. Constant communication with breeders will further help expand your knowledge on how to properly care for your exotic pet. In case anything happens, post a list of contact numbers near your exotic pet’s area for easy access. But proper and meticulously done research on your exotic pet prior to building the environment already takes care of pretty much everything.

For other people’s safety, you might want to put your exotic pet in a slightly isolated area, far from children who may be better off not mingling with them. Keep the exotic pet distant but still viewable. Some exotic pets don’t exactly welcome the idea of being fawned over by strangers. It might even take more time and considerable training for it to warm up to you, much more with other people. Keeping it out of your sight too much may cause it to escape and wreak havoc on somebody else’s home.

Make sure that you have the environment completely under control. Set boundaries with alarm systems that will alert you if your pet is going where it’s not supposed to go.

Avoid Making Website About Making A Website

If you are new the idea of making a website and making money with it then you are probably very excited.  You have been waiting for something like this for a long time.  Work from home, create, write and help people.  The whole concept is perfect for you.

All you need to do now is to figure out what your website is going to be about.  You have many interests – fishing, chess, and walks in the park.  Unfortunately none of these would make for an exciting website.  And you already looked and found that there are plenty website about these topics already.

In school you studies English literature so you are quite knowledgeable about the classic texts and the English language.  But, you are pretty certain that you could not write an entire website about it.  It was OK in school but you want to do something new.  And it would be difficult to make money with such a website.  What would the advertisements be? What could you sell? Books? Amazon has got you beat there.

So you need to think of a topic. A topic that you are interested in right now.  Something that you could research, study and think about all day.  Something that would not be a mental strain to ponder and write about.  It has to be interesting to you.

Also, it has to be a topic that allow for the selling of products and advertising space.  If you make a website about gerbil care then what could you sell?  Cages, gerbil food, gerbil toys?  Who would buy that online?  Probably very few.  Who would advertise on your site?  Pet stores? Pet food makers?  As you can see gerbil care is not the best topic if you want the website to make money.

So you scratch you head.  What should the website be about?  Then pop – a light bulb appears.  Of course, why didn’t I think of this before.  I will make a website about how to make a website.

If this happened to you then hopefully it is not to late to stop you.  If it has not happened yet then at least you be warned before it happens.

It happens because the new comer greatest interest at the moment is making a website.  So they can read and write about it endlessly.  To the new comer it is fresh and the possibilities are endless.  You are excited about the topic so you think the whole world is excited about this topic.

The result is a endless graveyard of abandoned website about how to make websites.  There are thousands and thousands of abandoned websites about making website.

To the newcomer it seems like a good idea because a website about websites is how they came across the idea in the first place.  The website inspired them and got them excited.  They want to make other people excited in the same way – they think everybody will be excited.

But the problem is that because everybody is doing it and there are so many site it is very dificult to compete.  The market is flooded.  There is basically no chance, unless you come up with some amazing content that nobody else has, that your website will succeed.

Most families at some point decide to introduce a pet or animal to their family home at some point in their lives. Although cats, dogs, rabbits, gerbils, fish and other small animals are the most common family pet it is becoming less unusual for families to look at bringing home exotic pets.

Exotic pets may seem more exciting and different however unless your are fully prepared and understand enough about the exotic pets you choose bringing one home could end in disaster.

When you are looking for exotic pets do your research before you shop, you may find you purchase an animal on impulse that you know little about and does not fit your family surroundings.

It is extremely important to do plenty of research on exotic pets before you decide what sort you want. You can find plenty of information on the internet simply type in the animal you are look for and read as much as you can to see if this animal suits you. You can also visit your local library and borrow books on exotic pets.

It may be helpful to visit a few pet shops to seek advise about exotic pets, make sure you are aware of all the special requirements they need.

What sort of housing do they require including the size and shape.

What sort of food do they eat and how often should they be fed

Are they prone to any type of diseases or problems you should look out for

Do they require any special equipment such as a UV light or heat mat

How long is their life expectancy

Do they need any type of vaccinations

Do you need any sort of licence to own this type of animal

If you have children it may be worth finding out how much your exotic pet likes to be interacted with. If you have chosen an animal that does not like to be handled will your family be happy with a pet that can only be looked at and not touched?

If you have other pets already you will need to know if the new addition will upset your existing animals and how they will get along. You may need to set up alternative measures if they need to be kept well away from each other.

Buying exotic pets is not as easy as it seems but if you are fully aware of everything that it needs and have prepared a loving home with the correct facilities there is no reason why you should not enjoy having one.
