I won my fish just yesterday at my state fair.
It’s a fish thats white with orange spots and is about and inch big.
I don’t have any fish tank or anything but I just putted him in a container which isnt that big. Yesterday when I won him he was in a Zip-Loc at the fair when I got him home I put him in the container.
I filled the container up HALF way, and yesterday I feared he might die because I don’t have all the right “Fish Supplies” for him.
So is it okay if he stays in the container for awhile? Does he need oxygen or any special needs? Please help me:) 10 points best answer!
THANK YOU!

Do you think this fish tank will be ok for a porcupine pufferfish or is it a bit to small? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Real-Wood-Aquarium_W0QQitemZ190274379295QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Pet_Supplies_Fish?hash=item190274379295&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1296%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
I want to know how they got things started. Where did they get the supplies; i.e. tanks, where to find wholesalers for fish and supplies and products. I am going to open a shop my self and I want to know as much as I can before hand.
I went to pet supplies plus the other day for dog food and stopped in the fish department to look around and I noticed what I believe were silver mollies with purple and orange hearts and polka dots on the sides of them. I asked the girl working there and she said it is dye that is injected into them! What in the world?! I mean this is a big chain! We wouldn’t dye into a cat or dog to make a heart design on them so why do it to a fish? I know some people are going to say it’s just a fish but it’s still a living creature. I’m rethinking doing business with Pet Supplies Plus for sure!
I’m glad everyone is in agreement here, except the first guy but I think he might have been lost….
I shop at Petsmart but was wondering how Petco compared? I have never been in a pet supplies plus but pass them all the time driving.Do they sell stuff for fish and aquariums? Thank you
I want to know what company supplies and ships fish to: Petco, Petsmart, Wal-Mart, and Petland.
Any or all companies would be very helpful. Who sells them the fish and at what price?
I need specific names of companies, please.
Fish supplies are necessary, whether you are planning on keeping one fish, two fish, a red fish, or a blue fish. Tropical fish require a lot more for them to remain happy, alive, and well. Tropical fish supplies are designed to help you do that. Fish supplies can describe any number of supplies that you will use to maintain your tank. For example, if you want your tank water to be clean, you need to keep a good supply of chemical cleaners on hand. These cleaners are available at most pet stores, and do a great job in keeping the water clear and healthy. They simply dissolve into the water and the chemicals rid the tank of harmful waste and debris.
There are fish supplies for almost anything it all deplaned what type of tank you have. To setup a saltwater fish tank you will need basic fish supplies such as: Aquarium substrate such as live sand or crushed coral, Live Rock, saltwater mix, heater, Aquarium filter (such as sump), Protein Skimmer, Saltwater test kits, Aquarium vacuum, Aquarium Glass Scrubber, Two, clean, never used before, 5-gallon bucket ,Aquarium thermometer. If you want to keep a healthy freshwater tank or tropical fish tank you will need some basic fish supplies, the first fish supply will be filter, this works greatly in ensuring the tank is kept clean and clear of waste and debris. Tropical fish are used to swimming in warmer water so a tank heater will be needed to keep the water in your tank at the proper temperature. Other fish supplies such as Aquarium substrate, freshwater test kits, Aquarium vacuum, Aquarium Glass Scrubber, Two, clean, never used before, 5-gallon bucket ,Aquarium thermometer are needed too. Any of these supplies can be bought at your local pet store.
Unlike the marine aquarium, the main purpose of reef tank is to house various types of fish; the true stars of the reef tank are the coral and other invertebrates. As the aquariums we maintain contain more and more diverse animal life, the need for more complete additives becomes more of a necessity, and the make-up of these additives has to be more geared to the new type of aquariums, in order to satisfy the requirements of all the animal life we now keep. Water movement is important in the reef aquarium with different types of coral requiring different flow rates.
Building water momentum using a gyre is an efficient method to increase flow, thus benefiting coral respiration and photosynthesis. Some corals such as the Mushroom Coral very little light to thrive – conversely, LPS coral such as Brain coral require moderate amounts of light, and Small Polyp Stony Corals (SPS) such as Acropora Coral, require high intensity lighting. A reef aquarium requires appropriately intense lighting, protein skimmer wave box and other saltwater fish supplies are needed to. If you have a true aquariumpassion you know how much fish supplies are essential.
There are also fish supplies for plants tanks, shrimps tanks, Nano reefs, ponds etc… Any of these supplies can be bought at your local pet store.
Knowing when and where to purchase tropical fish supplies can be a difficult task. There are so many tropical fish pet shops out there, and so many different fish shops, it can be hard to know where to start.
The best thing to do when searching for tropical fish supplies is to go to your nearest tropical fish store and speak to a shop assistant. When speaking with the assistant, ask them what their views are as to what the best types of products for your fish tank may be.
You’d be quite surprised to know that there are so many different varieties of products for your fish tank, all of which serve unique purposes, that choosing only a couple for your fish tank in particular can be a difficult task. It’s important you don’t get carrier away and decide to purchase everything available, as tempting as it may be. Remember that your tropical fish deserve only a unique set of products that will be relevant to helping them, they don’t need an entire entourage of supplies.
Another thing to be mindful of when purchasing your tropical fish supplies is just exactly how much they cost. Whilst it’s true that you do pay for quality, some near-identical products may be a lot cheaper at one store as opposed to another. Shop around a little, perhaps even research a certain product’s price on the internet. You’d be absolutely amazed just how much of a bargain you can find for certain products if you look hard enough.
Now when it comes to things such as filters and whatnot, make sure you choose a filter that is right for your tank. Many people think that just any old filter will do, but ask yourself these questions – Will the filter meet the theme of my tank? Will be it be sightly? Will it be too large for my tank? (the filter must fit after all!).
Once you’ve gotten these basics out of the way, the last step is to setup your fish tank with your tropical fish supplies. Now remember that sometimes, the supplies for tropical fish that you purchase are not designed to be used immediately within a live fish tank. For example, if you purchase a filter you want to make sure it works correctly before removing an old one and immediately placing the new one in. Have a little test tank if need be. You could even go so far as to put your fish in a plastic bag with water, or a bucket of some form, only temporarily, until you can ensure that the fish tank is safe for live operation.
